GitHub TLS Certificate Renewal

The NC State GitHub service uses a TLS certificate to verify its identity to browsers, and ensures that all communication between clients and the server is encrypted and secure. TLS certificates expire after one year, and need to be renewed to keep the trust of clients. The TLS certificate for the NC State GitHub service is currently set to expire on May 10th, 2022.

There will be a brief outage as the appliance restarts services following the certificate replacement.

Clients should see no change in behavior after the certificate has been replaced.

We are planning to apply the new certificate at 5:30PM on May 5th.
