Engineering – Outage – Service
— FOLLOWUP POST: 2019-05-07 13:31:36 —
Service is restored. It looks like we had a gradual increase in memory consumption over time that was not accounted for by the appliance.

The appliance has been rebooted and GitHub Services are starting.

At 1:17pm, we were paged that GitHub Enterprise services were critical and the appliance was non-responsive.
Console is reporting “unable to fork ghe-welcome: cannot allocate memory” and remote access was not available.
We are rebooting the appliance to attempt to restore service and retrieve logs that can be sent to GitHub Support.
