We have finished up the last of the archives, and verified the archive files have been uploaded to Google Drive and shared with their owner.

We were able to get through a larger chunk of users today, but we don’t feel comfortable leaving the process running overnight, as we ran into a few authentication issues during the run today.
We have about 180 accounts left to archive, so we’ll be finishing those up tomorrow, starting at 10:00 am.

The archive process got through about 180 accounts, and then Google got upset with us and locked the account we use to upload the data and send emails.
Rather than trying to debug these issues over the weekend, we will be rescheduling this process for Monday.

The account archive process has started. A total of 608 accounts are being archived. The process will take some time, as each account needs to be pulled down, bundled, and then shipped to Google Drive.
We will update this post with status updates as the process progresses.

We are finalizing verification that all users scheduled to be decommissioned should actually be processed (so we don’t accidentally process folks who are still here).
We will be starting the archive process as soon as we finish verification.

In line with our policy for user account decommissioning, on June 14th at 3:00PM we will be starting the decommissioning process for user accounts that have been marked as separated from the university for one month or more. At the time of writing, this will remove approximately 621 user accounts. One week after the archive process, the accounts will be deleted from github.ncsu.edu.
Visit our documentation site at https://docs.github.ncsu.edu for more information on our policies and decommissioning process.
